Who says you can’t celebrate your 65th birthday in a club? Endearingly nicknamed, The Dragon Lady, Vivian Yuchengco proved that wrong. To recreate the ambiance of NYC’s Studio 54, the club was bedecked in gold and black. Event stylist Gideon Hermosa placed giant white horses among clouds of white balloons by the entrance. The ceiling was festooned with white and gold balloons while the round guest tables as well as the cocktail tables were decorated with white flowers in gold containers. Graphics similar to the invitations were printed and placed on lighted low tables to further enhance the theme. Margarita Fores of Cibo provided buffet stations featuring three different cuisines—Italian, Spanish, and Filipino. Champagne from Moet and Chandon flowed ceaselessly in the bar. Ces Drilon and Mitch Valdez hosted the program. South Border, Arnel Pineda, and Gary Valenciano provided the entertainment.
