Shangri-la at the Fort
Athena’s party exuded so much loveliness starting with the royal blue invitation accentuated with gold calligraphy and laser-cut envelope by Print Divas. All printables including the menu cards, bar list, and screen saver reflected the same royal blue background and monogram from the invitation.
While waiting for the debutante’s entrance, guests were served with cocktails. They also swarmed around the photobooth which took and printed their numerous pictures given to them as souvenirs.
The guests could not help but marvel at the grandeur of the Bonifacio Ballroom of The Shangri-La at the Fort. Tables were styled perfectly with silver cutlery, chunky white candles, and lush greens with pops of blue and purple blooms. Two sets of LED screens were installed on the sides and Royal Flower Shoppe provided a floral backdrop using fresh blooms accentuated with crystal chandeliers.
As befitting a princess, the guests were requested to stand and greet the regal debutante. The glittering lilac-beaded gown by young designer Patricia Santos was very becoming on Athena’s slim figure. Soon after, the guests feasted on the hotel’s prepared dishes which included herb-marinated, roasted Australian beef striploin available at the carving station, noodle concoctions at the action station, and entrees like stir-fried prawns, poached dory fillet, and braised pork belly.
The four-layer cake by Maite Gregorio of Cake Concepts was a sight to behold. Reminiscent of the Victorian era, the cake featured gold gilded borders, pearls, and macarons on tufted chairs.
Athena and some of her friends surprised everyone with an upbeat dance number. The debutante’s nephew sprang another surprise by dancing with her that wowed the guests and started the delightful all-night partying.
